In the Community
Carrington Dean believes in giving something back to the wider community and our staff are passionate about supporting both charitable and educational initiatives.
Mothers Care India
We have an enthusiastic charity committee which organises regular fundraising events throughout the year. Every penny we raise goes to our chosen charity Mothers Care India. It is a small charity which funds education for disadvantaged children living in the slums of Delhi. By enabling children from some of India’s poorest communities to go to school, the charity gives them both hope and a better chance in life.
We recognise that families can find it difficult to discuss money issues with children yet it is crucially important to teach young people to handle money responsibly. Every year many teenagers leave school lacking the knowledge and confidence they need to be able to make informed financial decisions in life.
We firmly believe that financial education has an important part to play in breaing the cycle of poor financial literacy and financial hardship. We conducted independent research into young people’s awareness and understanding of personal finance issues and produced a Financial Education report on the findings.
As a result of this work we are in the process of setting up a Financial Education Initiative to offer assistance to schools in providing free practical lessons on personal finance for pupils. Our goal is to help raise a generation of confident, financially literate and financially-aware young people.
