The school holidays have arrived and whilst millions of kids up and down the country are jumping up and down with excitement, some parents are already feeling the pinch.

It has never been easy to keep your kids entertained whilst schools are shut but with the cost of living reaching record-breaking heights, this year is set to hit households particularly hard.

Here are just some of the places where you can treat your kids (and your finances) to a free lunch this summer whether you are running out of ideas for cheap activities or just need a little helping hand getting through the week.

Morrisons

Have you been shocked at the price of your weekly food shop recently? Well, whilst there’s not much you can do about the rising cost of food, you can treat your kids to lunch for free the next time you’re stocking up on their favourite snacks.

Morrisons stores nationwide are giving kids under the age of 16 the chance to eat for free in their cafes with the purchase of an adult meal worth at least £4.99.

The kids meal comes with a piece of fruit and either orange juice, apple juice, or a bottle of water and can be redeemed all day, every day for super savings from morning till night.

Asda

Asda is also slashing the price of its kids meals this summer to help cover the cost of food this summer.

The deal will run until the term resumes in September and entitles kids to a hot or cold meal (depending on availability) for just £1 with no adult meal or minimum spend required.

Parents can also get a free pouch of Ella’s Kitchen baby food with the purchase of an adult meal so the whole family can get involved.

Dobbies

If you love spending a sunny summer afternoon wandering around a garden centre but your kids would rather be anywhere else, you might be able to tempt them with a free kids meal with the purchase of an adult meal.

The deal includes a meal and drink from the kids menu and runs daily until 12pm with most restaurants open between 9am and 5:30pm Monday to Saturday.

Bella Italia

Bella Italia are giving kids meals away for £1 this summer so you can treat your kids and your finances to a delicious meal for less.

The deal is eligible for children under 11 with the purchase of an adult meal between 4pm and 6pm Monday to Thursday and includes three courses, a drink, and an activity pack so you can keep them fed and entertained without breaking the bank.

Yo! Sushi

UK-favourite sushi chain Yo! Sushi is the latest restaurant to launch a deal for kids this summer with kids under 10 eating from the children’s menu for free between 3pm and 5:30pm Monday to Thursday (maximum of three kids per table).

The deal includes a main, drink, and dessert for an additional £1.50 and is available with every £10 spent on food from the main menu.
